Our coach

Becky Marland was born in England and came to Canada in 1971. She and her husband have 6 children. They
breed Haflinger Horses and have lived in Chilliwack, B.C. until July, 2003 when the family moved to Rocky
Mountain House, Alberta. All the children have been vaulters at one time or another; therefore it seemed logical
for her to become a vaulting coach. Her youngest daughter, Hannah, has been vaulting for 18 years and is the
only one to have continued in a seriously motivated and competitive manner.

Becky took the Vaulting Coaches Accreditation Course in 1998, a course designed and taught by the Equestrian Vaulting Association of B.C. which is now administered by Horse Council B.C. While working with the Cheam Vaulters, of Chilliwack, Becky also served on the board of Directors of the Equestrian Vaulting Association of B.C. She is a founding member and Director of the Alberta Equestrian Vaulting Association (A.E.V.A.), and is on the Sport Committee of VaultCanada, the national vaulting body. Her work continues to promote the sport throughout the province and help organize inter-club competitions and clinics for Coaches and Vaulters.
